William Rowland postcard, WWI

On September 21, 1918, Lt. William D. Rowland mailed this post card from Pougues-les-Eaux France to his sister, Mrs Harry Holsinger of Ridgely Maryland. He spoke a little of the countryside and asked her to give a simple message to their "pop". Direct from World War I, a sweet, touching old whisper from the past sent by Lt. William Rowland to his sister... to his father ... and to us.

Ridgely MD is near Denton where there are still Holsingers living today, and one named Rowland Holsinger.

Find more about the Rowlands at RootsWeb or the Holsingers at RootsWeb.
